Kaori Imaizumi, owner and designer of Blooming Floral Design in San Francisco, will be featured in a floral art exhibit at the Filoli Estate as a part of their three day Mother?s Day weekend celebration entitled ?Hats Off to Mother Nature.?The event is Friday May 6 to Sunday May 8 from 10:00 am until 3:30 pm, with other special events arranged throughout the weekend.
?I do not like to go by a formula, or do the same sort of thing that the big flower websites and stores are doing,? says Imaizumi. I enjoy working with the customer to create something special, whether in person or over the phone. I want to make sure they get exactly what they want. My hope is that people at the flower show will see my creations and then visit my shop to see more designs, or create one of their own.?
General admission is $ 20 for members and $ 25 for non-members for the Flower Show; kids ages 5-17 are $ 10. The last day to purchase general admission tickets online is Thursday, May 5 at noon, and tickets are available for purchase at filoli.org or by phone at (650) 364-8300, extension 508.
Imaizumi of Blooming Floral Design has a very unique background in floral design and has five years of experience designing for the Bouquets to Art event at the de Young museum held annually.
